Click here to listen to Matt Doheny's appearance on the Hotline, Mayor Graham's noontime talk show.

Mr. Doheny, who's facing off against Kellie Greene in a June 26 primary, gave Mr. Graham (a supporter) an hour of his time. Ms. Greene will appear on the show tomorrow. Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, called into the show last week.

Now, for the highlights from today's gentle colloquy. Mr. Doheny:

*Said that if he lost the GOP primary, he'd support the Republican nominee, despite the fact that he has the Conservative and Independence lines already.

*Said he would be a "fierce advocate for our district," while also working to cut spending, when Mr. Graham put forward his "people want free stuff" theory.

*Distanced himself from the business history of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor who was involved in private equity — restructuring public companies and making them private. Mr. Doheny, on the other hand, said he helps turn around companies that are struggling.

*Said "we take the (primary) race quite seriously" — three times.

*Reminded voters that the primary is on June 26, which is unusual.

*Said he wouldn't bring up the speeding ticket that Mr. Owens got last year for going 84 mph in a 55 zone.

*Said he wouldn't take trips organized by lobbyists.

*Said that if he could change anything, he wouldn't have operated his boat under the influence of alcohol, and that he people should be judged in their totality.

*Said that Justice Stephen Breyer might be his least favorite Supreme Court justice, because "he has that whole Harvard Law" thing. Mr. Doheny, of course, is a graduate of Cornell Law School.

*Said he believes President Obama was born in the United States.

*Said that his primary campaign watch party will take place starting at 8 p.m. at the Italian American Civic Association in Watertown, with an after-party, of course, at Fort Pearl.
