Sid Harmer Jr. held off the field Saturday night en route to his first win of the season at Can-Am Motorsports Park in LaFargeville. Competing in the Dig Safely New York, SUNY Canton pro street division, Harmer survived late restarts for the win, placing ahead of runner-up Kenny Hamm and Mike White.

JR Durham dominated in the thunder car division, earning his fourth win of the season. Jock Symonds and Ray Bechler finished in the top three. Mike Trapp recorded his first triumph of the season in the late model feature. Alan Fink finished second and Jordan Keruskie was third in the 20-lap race.

Tiger Chapman won the 20-lap mod lites feature, with Joel Hargraves taking second and Matt Rainville finishing third. Brandon Sweet led the way to the finish line in the 25-lap big block/358-modified feature ahead of runner-up Lance Willix and Jason Potter. Brandon Hagan moved high around leader Anthony Stockman in turns one and two to take the lead with five laps to go.

Watertown’s Billy Dunn finished second behind Danny Johnson in the 35-lap modified feature Saturday night at the Canandaigua Speedway. Dexter’s Rob Bellinger was eighth. Matt Hulsizer won the modified feature Saturday night at Fulton Speedway. Mike Barnes was Saturday’s supermodified feature winner at Oswego Speedway, beating Michael Muldoon and Pat Lavery. Ron Pullen won his second straight small-block modified feature.

Dale Planck claimed the modified feature Saturday at Brockville (Ontario) Speedway ahead of runner-up Lee Gill and Stephane LaFrance. Jessica Power won the sportsman feature.

Evans Mills Speedway had not reported results as of Sunday night.

Bellinger wins on birthday

Bellinger and his crew may have celebrated a little longer after he won his first big-block modified feature Friday night at Brewerton.

But who could blame Bellinger as he crossed the finish line ahead of Jimmy Phelps, winning on his birthday. It didn’t come easy at the end. The caution flag came out with a lap to go, but on the restart, Bellinger took off and kept Phelps from spoiling the party. Bellinger became the seventh driver to win the 35-lap modified feature in as many races this season.

Chris Raabe won his first 358-modified feature of the season Friday night at Mohawk International Raceway in Akwesasne.

Dylan Evoy won the opening round of the Frenchie’s Ford “Drive One’’ sportsman series.

PJ Peters took the lead late on his brother, Allen, in posting the win in the pro stock feature. Roch Aubin finished second and Peters was third. Dean Pronovost got his first win of the season in the mod lites feature.

The bandits feature was highlighted by an accident involving Joe Jock that brought out the red flag. Jock climbed out of his car but was taken to the hospital by the track ambulance for observation. Race officials declared the race complete following the crash on the sixth lap of the 12-lap feature. Matthew Aubin was declared the winner, while Corey Castell was second and Stuart Mossow third.

The speedway will hold racing on Thursday night this week as the 358-modified series race will highlight the program.
