LORRAINE — Rev. Leon F. Stillman, age 92, passed away at his home in Rushville, NY, on Feb. 13, 2012.

A graveside service will be held at the Adams Rural Cemetery on Rte. 11 at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 23rd.

Memorial contributions may be made to “Scholarships for Camp Aldersgate”, Upper NY Annual Conference, 3rd Floor, 324 University Ave., Syracuse, NY 13219.

Rev. Stillman was a graduate of Adams High School and Empire State College. He was a dairy and poultry farmer until the age of 52, when he attended the Wesley Seminary in Washington, D.C. He served many upstate churches, including Sulfur Springs, Bombay and S. Bombay, Ft. Covington, Massena, Brasher Falls, N. Lawrence, Buckton, Newport and Middleville, Dekalb and Dekalb Junction. He retired in 1989 after pastoring the Middlesex and Vine Valley United Methodist Churches in the Finger Lakes area.

Rev. Stillman is survived by his wife of 64 years, Roberta Shelmidine Stillman; six children, Elwin (Pamela) Stillman, Diane Stillman, Marvin Stillman, Marcia Stillman, Wayne Stillman and Cathy Stillman; six grandchildren, Benjamin Loomis, Phillip Stillman, Molly Stillman, Joel Provost, Joy Dyson, and Robert Stillman; nine great-grandchildren; and his twin sister, Leona Macklen.

He was predeceased by his son, Alan Stillman in 1961, and by his parents, Benjamin and Mae Spencer Stillman.
