Dewey L. Roberts, 67, of Sandy Creek passed away Wednesday at his home. Born June 25, 1944 in the Town of Lorraine. Son of Lawrence and Reitha Johnson Roberts. He was married to the former Nancy A. Stewart on Oct. 14, 1962 in Adams. They lived all their married life in the Sandy Creek area. His wife died April 24, 2000. He was retired from Miller Brewery in Fulton, N.Y. Dewey was an avid shuffle board player. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Kelly and Ernie Stevens of Sandy Creek, and Dana and Patrick Rogers of Pierrepont Manor. Three brothers: David (Joanne) Roberts of Lorriane, Danna (Dona) Roberts of Adams, and Dennis (Sandy) Roberts of Black River. Two sisters: Diana (Robert) Dideigo and Doris (George) Bell both of Florida. His mother Reitha Roberts of Fulton, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services 2 P.M. Sunday at Summerville Funeral Home in Sandy Creek with the Rev. Denise M. Bowen officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery Sandy Creek. Friends may call 12-2 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
