WADDINGTON - St. Lawrence County Sheriffs Department investigators said overnight that $400 was taken during the strong arm robbery at 8:20 p.m. Thursday at the Kunoco store in Waddington.
Deputies said a white male entered theKunoco store on state Route 37 wearing a black zip up hoody, jeans and a ski type mask.
The male made his way around the counter and attempted to steal money when he was confronted by a female store clerk.She attempted to stop him from taking the money, and the two wrestled to the floor before the suspect was able to get free and get out from behind the counter.
A second physical confrontation took place, and deputies said at that time the suspect bit the 21-year-old store clerk on the
arm and then kicked her twice in the ribs.
She let go of him, and he ran from the store.
It appears the suspect got away with about $400, deputies said.
The store clerk was transported to the hospital by Waddington Rescue, treated for the bite wound and released.
The suspect was described as between 58 and 510, with a thin build.Reports indicated he weighed between 140-160 pounds. \
Sheriffs department officers were assisted at the scene by New York State Police uniform officers and a K-9 Officer.
The sheriffs department is asking anyone with information about this crime to call theor office at 379-2222.
