CANTON St. Lawrence University outdoor track and field head coach Kate Curran and her staff were named Liberty League coaching staff of the year.
The Saints won the league championship and two of their first-year athletes received Liberty League awards.
SLU jumper Liza Bell was named the leagues field athlete of the year. She tied for first in the high jump in the league,second in the state college championships and finished 11th in her first NCAA Division III meet.
The Saints Carly Stine was selected the leagues rookie of the year. Stine won the league 100 hurdles and finished third in the 400 hurdles and took first in the state meet in the 400 hurdles.
In mens awards, Saints sprinter Jarell Roberts was named track performer of the year. Roberts won league championships in the 100 and 200 meters and was part of the winning 400 relay in the league meet.
■ Jefferson Community Colleges Joelle Percy, a former Carthage athlete, was selected to the NJCAA All-America team for womens lacrosse. Percy finished her JCC career with 62 goals and 24 assists. She plans to attend SUNY Canton next fall.
