Republican Matt Doheny raised $154,319 in the first quarter of 2012, bringing his cash on hand to $418,022.
Rep. Bill Owens, the Plattsburgh Democrat whom Mr. Doheny would like to take on in November, has yet to file.
And Kellie Greene, whom Mr. Doheny might have to face in a June 26 primary, raised $2,795, plus kicked in $750 in her own money.
The Federal Elections Commission's website is acting a bit strange right now, and it's not posting the full report, but the Doheny campaign sent me a copy, which I've posted below.
This fundraising quarter was a significant drop from Mr. Doheny's final quarter of 2011, when he raised more than $300,000.
That will inevitably draw some to conclude that the photographs of Mr. Doheny kissing a woman who was not his fiancee at a Washington, D.C. restaurant had some sort of chilling effect, but it probably had no effect. The Gawker story hit on March 28; the fundraising quarter ended on March 31. (The campaign insists that nothing inappropriate happened, that the pictures were "out of context" and the wedding is still on; indeed, wedding invitations started going out in the last few days to more than 700 invitees.)
Political action committees for Republican Reps. Paul Ryan, Pete Sessions and Jeb Hensarling each gave to Mr. Doheny; so did The Freedom Project, a PAC for which Speaker John Boehner serves as chairman.
The campaign had previously said that the PAC that donated to Mr. Doheny was Team Boehner, which is a related but separate entity.
Mr. Doheny still has not lent his campaign any money, though he's signaled a willingness to do so.
