Sen. Joe Griffo is offering a quintessentially Italian dessert at a series of public meetings with constituents in St. Lawrence County: cannolis. The cream-stuffed pastry is, objectively speaking, delicious.

Mr. Griffo is the president of the New York Conference of Italian American State Legislators.

(As a side note, I'm somewhat ambivalent about the "no eating" rule that journalists are told to follow, but I stick to it unless I'm so hungry that my stomach grumbles are mistaken for the taunts of an aggressive marsupial. I don't think I can be bribed by a chicken wing, but rules are rules. [In the case of cannolis, perhaps they're meant to be broken.])

Mr. Griffo, R-Rome, will be at the following places at the following times tomorrow, according to his office:

The St. Lawrence - Lewis County School Boards Association Legislative Breakfast at SUNY-Canton, 9:00 -10:30 a.m.

The St. Lawrence County Maple Producers Association Tree Tapping Ceremony in Potsdam 11:00 - noon.

The Massena Nursery School - Day Care Center's KIDFEST at the J.R. Leary Junior High School, 1 School Street, Massena 1:00 - 1:30 p.m.

Senator Griffo is also hosting a Coffee and Conversation Meeting at the Vino Vidi Vici restaurant, 160 Harte Haven Shopping Plaza, Route 37, Massena from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m
