Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush has hired a now-former staffer in Sen. Patty Ritchie's office to be his new chief of staff.
Brian Peck had served as the operations director for Mrs. Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, for a little over a year. The Peck name is well known in Republican circles. His brother, John, is a county legislator.
Mr. Peck replaces Julia Robbins in the Blankenbush office. Ms. Robbins became the executive director of an agriculture association.
Mr. Blankenbush, R-Black River, announced the move in a news release today.
Mrs. Ritchie's staff said yesterday that they weren't sure whether Mr. Peck would be replaced.
