A man was detained by Watertown police early Wednesday on a warrant charging him in the assault of his brother.
Eric T. Johnson Jr., 23, of 24356 Route 12, is charged with second-degree assault for allegedly hitting his brother, Trevon M. Johnson, 17, of 167 Green St., on the back of the head with a frying pan, according to a police document. The incident is said to have occurred on the afternoon of Nov. 1 at Trevon Johnsons residence. The victim declined treatment the night of the incident.
Eric Johnsons arrest at 5:30 a.m. came after he was turned over to city police by Jefferson County sheriffs deputies. Deputies had halted his vehicle shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Route 12 in the town of Watertown, and cited him with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving at a speed not reasonable or prudent, failure to signal a turn, failure to keep right, crossing hazard markings and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Mr. Johnson was released without bail following arraignment Wednesday in City Court.
