The mayor had to get on a "bent knee" and say, "Let me assure you, Utica is one fine city" after a shock jock disparaged our neighbor to the southeast in an appearance last week.
"Let me start by apologizing for the comments about the City of Utica made by my friend and co-worker Johnny Spezzano when he popped into the studio the other day while I did the HOTLINE program on AM-1240 WATN," the mayor wrote on his blog.
Mr. Spezzano said he heard prostitutes were cavorting around a train station there.
As Mr. Graham noted, the comments caused quite the stir in Utica, making news there.
The mayor of Utica, David Roefaro, will appear on Mr. Graham's radio show Monday to make peace between the two upstate localities, Mr. Graham says.
