Here are a few supporting documents for the story on how officials at the state's corrections officer union threw an internal election from Darrel Aubertine to Will Barclay in 2008.

First is the actual tally sheet. The guy who's copping to the crime, Chris Leo, kept it, and provided it to the task force investigating the incident. (Those are his typed notations.) I've edited it to blur out a phone number that had been written on it. The rest of it is in its original form.

As you can see, they just took a pen and scratched out Aubertine and Barclay. In the words of Boss Tweed, the legendary crook of Tammany Hall: It's not the voters that count, but who counts the votes.

The other document is the cover sheet to the investigation. You'll note that under Item Two, it says "both parties were involved" in changing the election results. This does not mean both political parties. It means both people — Chris Leo and Brian Shanagher.
