CAZENOVIA — Canton's Christy Foster finished first among all NCAA Division III women's lacrosse athletes in ground balls per game, Cazenovia College announced Thursday.
Foster, a junior midfielder, led the nation with 5.9 ground balls a game. She was selected to the first team in the North Eastern Athletic Conference and was also an NEAC scholar athlete.
“Christy does it all for our team,” Cazenovia coach Lauren Pacelli said. “It is obvious that she goes out to win every time regardless of who the opponent is.”
Foster was second on the team in scoring with 43 goals and 13 assists in 14 games. She totaled 82 ground balls.
