HAMILTON — Former Alexandria hockey player Kurt Brown will be inducted into the Colgate University Athletic Hall of Honors as a goaltender in October.
Brown played for Colgate from 1960-64, and still holds school records for career save percentage (.917), and single season save percentage (.930). He was an alternate captain for the program’s first two Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference playoff appearances, in 1963 and 1964.
Brown also played three seasons of varsity baseball.
Brown went on to play in the American Hockey League and for the Dutch National Team in Europe. He was a Vietnam era Air Force pilot, and then flew for Delta Air Lines for over 30 years before retiring in 2002.
Brown lives with his wife, Else, in Sarasota, Fla.
