Former Clarkson defenseman Tom Pizzo has joined classmates Scott Freeman and Brandon DeFazio in professional hockey, signing with the Central Hockey League's Texas Brahmas, a team based in Fort Worth.
Pizzo will be joining the team in time for a playoff series against the Odessa Jackalopes.
Texas was 34-27 with five overtime losses during the regular season and finished fourth in the Berry Conference. Odessa was the fifth-place team in the conference with a 31-28 record and seven overtime losses.
One of Pizzo's teammates will be former St. Lawrence University forward Alex Curran.
Pizzo, a Rochester native, played in 93 games at Clarkson and had four goals and seven assists. He competed in 24 games this past season and had one goal and three assists.
