ALEXANDRIA BAY — The Thousand Islands Privateers will face rival Akwesasne when the first round of the Federal Hockey League playoffs begin next week.

Thousand Islands, which ended its regular season Saturday with a victory over Cape Cod, begins its best-of-5 series at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at Akwesasne. The second game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 26 at Bonnie Castle Recreation Center.

Remaining games are as follows: at Akwesasne, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27; at Thousand Islands, 7 p.m., March 4 (if necessary); at Akwesasne, March 5 (if necessary).

The series winner advances to the league finals, scheduled to start the week of March 14.
