ITHACA — Cornell stunned St. Lawrence with a 4-3 ECAC Hockey overtime win after scoring twice in the final 10 minutes to force the extra session.

Greg Miller netted the game-winner on a power play at 2 minutes, 38 seconds of the overtime.

Cornell (11-9-3 overall, 9-5-2 ECAC) pulled within 3-2 at 12:03 of the third when Braden Birch put one past SLU goalie Robby Moss. The Big Red tied the game on an extra-attacker goal with 14.8 seconds to play. Joe Devin scored his second of the night on a redirection to even the score at 3-3.

St. Lawrence (8-14-5, 4-10-1) had been positioned to sweep the season series with Cornell for the first time since the 2006-07 season.

“It’s a tough pill to swallow,” said Saint associate head coach Bob Prier, who coached the weekend trip while head coach Joe Marsh continued to recover from a January medical procedure. “We made it through their pressure early and played them fairly even after that. They are a very good team and they found a way to win it despite being down a pair of goals in the third period. I have nothing but good things to say about the way we played this weekend. It would have been great to come out with a win or tie, but we can certainly build off the weekend effort.”

Cornell swarmed the Saints early in a fast-paced first period and the early pressure produced the game’s first goal. Devin was all alone at the right post and stuffed a shot past Moss at 5:29.

The Saints went on a five minute power play in the second period and Kyle Flanagan cleaned up a rebound off a Justin Baker shot to put the Saints even at 1-1.

Flanagan then set up Greg Carey’s 15th of the season on a five-on-three power play 1:54 into the third period as Carey came down the slot and snapped a shot between Iles and the post.

Bogosian gave the Saints their two-goal lead when he stole the puck between the faceoff dots and scored his 10th of the year.
