Chaumont, Cape Vincent struck by power outage

CHAUMONT — Approximately 1,000 National Grid customers between Chaumont and Cape Vincent were in the dark Thursday night.

The power outage, reported at 9:10 p.m., was predicted by National Grid to last at least two hours until repairs could be completed, according to the Jefferson County emergency dispatch center.

No information was available about the source or cause of the disruption.
