Man arrested in burglary

at ex-girlfriend's house

BRASHER FALLS — State police arrested a Brasher Falls man Tuesday night after he spent more than a month on the lam. David N. Lantry was arrested at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday on a number of charges stemming from an October burglary.

He is accused of breaking into and stealing items from his ex-girlfriend's house about noon Oct. 8, which violated an order of protection that she had against him.

Police said that Mr. Lantry hid out to avoid arrest for several weeks, until he sent threatening text messages to the woman Tuesday night. He finally was tracked down at 252 Quinell Road, Helena, the ex-girlfriend's home, police said.

Mr. Lantry was charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal contempt, both felonies. He also was charged with obstructing governmental administration, second-degree criminal contempt and fifth-degree possession of marijuana.

He was taken to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, and released on bail.

Watertown man accused

of threatening city officer

A man who late Tuesday allegedly told a city police officer "you won't make it out alive" is facing prosecution in City Court on three charges.

Kirk R. Guyette, 27, of 206 Franklin St., Apt. 56, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. on charges of second-degree obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Police were called to the lobby of the apartment building about 10:50 p.m. to deal with a complaint about disorderly persons. Officer Shane M. Ryan said that while he was attempting to interview a person, Mr. Guyette stepped in between them, implied that he had a handgun, made the threatening comment and added that he was wearing a bulletproof vest.

Ex-Cape inmate wanted

on charge in Connecticut

A Bronx man who has served nearly four years in prison was transferred Wednesday from Cape Vincent Correctional Facility to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building.

Wilfredo Ortiz Hiraldo, 32, awaits extradition to New Haven, Conn., to face a charge of risking injury to a minor, according to state police. A warrant on that charge was issued in July 2002.

According to the state Department of Correctional Services Web site, he was sentenced in Bronx in 2005 for first-degree sexual abuse.

Man accused of striking

his wife in front of child

COPENHAGEN — A village man was jailed following a domestic fight late Tuesday in which he allegedly struck his wife in the face in the presence of their child, according to state police.

Brandon D. Dibkey, 29, Copenhagen, was arraigned in town of Denmark Court on charges of third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. With bail set at $1,000, he was sent to Lewis County Jail, Lowville.

His wife, Carrie, suffered face injuries, police said.

Natural Bridge man cited

with having marijuana

NATURAL BRIDGE — Louis A. Howland, 49, of 43798 Lewisburg Road, was charged by state police Tuesday with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and is ordered to appear in town of Wilna Court.

Police said a quantity of marijuana was found at his residence Oct. 30 after emergency responders went there to treat him for having difficulty breathing.

Man charged with having

license plate stolen in '05

A Jefferson County deputy sheriff on Tuesday night recovered a license plate that was stolen nearly four years ago.

Alfred E. Hoffman, 50, of 24021 Route 12, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property after the plate, reported stolen Dec. 22, 2005, was discovered at his residence, according to the sheriff's office. He is ordered to appear in town of Watertown Court.

A Fort Drum woman punched and scratched another woman in the face, state police allege, and faces a charge of third-degree assault.

Tia Huntley, 27, is ordered to appear in town of LeRay Court as a result of an incident late Nov. 8, police said. The victim, Katherine Robinson, 23, Evans Mills, suffered a concussion, police said.

Watertown woman cited

with shoplifting at Kohl's

Jessica A. Renken, 19, of 1010 Myrtle Ave., is summoned to town of Watertown Court to answer a charge of petit larceny, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

She is accused of shoplifting merchandise priced at a total of $157.98 at Kohl's, 21850 Towne Center Drive, on Nov. 12, deputies said.
