CANTON — The case of an 17-year-old boy accused of robbing another teen of marijuana at knife-point will be given to a St. Lawrence County grand jury.

Village Judge William F. McGinn ruled Friday that enough evidence exists to move Tristan Perry's case to a grand jury. Mr. Perry, 17, of 46 E. Main St., was charged Tuesday with first- and second-degree robbery, both felonies, village police said. He also was charged with second-degree menacing.

Mr. Perry is accused of pulling a pocket knife on Sebastian J. Jerome, 16, who was looking to sell about 11 grams of marijuana, valued at $110, on Oct. 15. The robbery occurred behind Rite Aid in the Midtown Shopping Plaza.

A codefendant, Tegan P. King, 16, of 19 Gouverneur St., also was charged with first- and second-degree robbery. Mr. Jerome was not charged with a crime.

Mr. Perry is in St. Lawrence County jail on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond, while Mr. King is out on probation supervision.
