Akwesasne teen charged after fight in Potsdam

POTSDAM — Alexander A. Garrow, 19, Akwesasne, was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree harassment and two counts of third-degree attempted assault following a fight at 2:08 a.m. Saturday on Pierrepont Avenue, according to village police.

Several other people were involved, but fled the scene before police could arrest them, police said.

Hannawa Falls man cited

with driving on sidewalk

POTSDAM — Jeffrey A. Brewer, 34, Hannawa Falls, was charged with driving on the sidewalk and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following an incident on Market Street, according to village police.

He was seen driving on the sidewalk at 12:04 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Potsdam woman accused

of hitting man in the face

POTSDAM — Ashley A. Fuller, 22, Potsdam, was charged by village police with third-degree assault just before midnight Friday.

Ms. Fuller allegedly hit an unnamed man in the face in a domestic dispute on Market Street.

North Carolina teen faces

trespassing, pot charges

HEUVELTON — Joshua J. Eustis, 18, Raleigh, N.C., was charged with third-degree criminal trespass and unlawful possession of marijuana following an incident Thursday, according to state police.

Mr. Eustis was found trespassing in an outbuilding belonging to William Hitchcock, Heuvelton, troopers said.

Fort Drum man accused

of damaging decorations

A Fort Drum man with an apparent disdain for Halloween was arrested by Watertown police Friday for allegedly roughing up a homeowner's decorations.

Travis D. Picantine, 23, of 10245 5th Armored Division Drive, allegedly ripped apart two inflatable lawn decorations and smashed a Halloween sign and a mechanical cat at 537 Cooper St. He also stole an inflatable SpongeBob decoration and a plastic skeleton, police said.

All told, he caused more than $190 in damage and stole $35 worth of property, police said.

He was arrested Friday night at 202 W. Lynde St. and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, trespass and petit larceny. He was issued tickets to appear in City Court and released to military police.

Police say man damaged

Russell E. Boles, 44, of 564 State St., Apt. 3, has been charged with third-degree criminal mischief after he allegedly punched a large window Friday at the Time Warp Tavern, 302 State St., causing $800 in damage.

Watertown police arrested Mr. Boles on Friday night at 140 Polk St. He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $500 bail.

Man accused of grabbing

girlfriend by the throat

A Watertown man is facing charges after he allegedly grabbed his girlfriend's throat during a domestic dispute.

City police charged Edward L. Whitfield III, 43, of 518 W. Main St., Apt. 1, with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment Saturday night as a result of the incident. The victim, July M. Towsley, also holds an order of protection against him. He was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment in Watertown Town Court.

Man cited with possessing

firearm at border crossing

ALEXANDRIA BAY — State police arrested a Delaware County man Friday for allegedly possessing a firearm illegally while attempting to enter Canada.

Thomas G. Moore, 55, Deposit, was registering his rifle at the Wellesley Island port of entry when a background check revealed he was convicted of a felony in December 1982, which prohibited him from owning a firearm. He was issued a ticket to appear in Orleans Town Court.
