Watertown man jailed

on grand larceny charge

Jason M. Bartholomew, 31, of 608 Davidson St., was being held Thursday under $5,000 bail in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building after being arrested by city police on three charges, including fourth-degree grand larceny.

He was arraigned before part-time Watertown City Judge Eugene R. Renzi, and faces additional charges of second-degree criminal trespass and petit larceny.

Police alleged that on Sept. 14 he made an unauthorized $70 withdrawal from a checking account belonging to Dawn K. Beebe, 1216 Superior St., Apt. B-4, and that on Sept. 26 he stole a credit card from her purse in her apartment. He then made purchases totaling $80.79 with the card between Sept. 29 and Oct. 2, police allege.

Police say man refused

to reveal his identity

POTSDAM — Matthew J. McGrath, 25, Norfolk, was charged Saturday with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, village police said.

He is accused of failing to provide officers with his name several times when they attempted to stop him from leaving the Canton-Potsdam Hospital parking lot. A further check found he had a revoked driver's license.

He was issued appearance tickets for Village Court.

Madrid man is charged

over bad check for $2,665

Roger I. Mattice, 61, of 171 Pearson Road, Madrid, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. Friday by Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.

Police said Mr. Mattice wrote a check for $2,665.49 on a closed account on July 14 to 84 Lumber, 20181 Route 12F. He was arraigned Friday before Judge Andrew N. Capone in Town Court and released pending grand jury action.

Watertown teenager cited

with child endangerment

After being warned by police to stay away from a 15-year-old boy at Watertown High School on Wednesday, a teenager joined the juvenile early in the afternoon to leave the building, city police allege.

Joseph K. Buldra, 16, of 312 W. Hoard St., was charged with endangering the welfare of a child in the 100 block of Thompson Boulevard. He was released and awaits prosecution in City Court.

Potsdam man is facing

drug possession charge

POTSDAM — A Winter Haven man is accused of possessing Suboxone early Tuesday morning when stopped on Bay Street.

Casey D. McMillan, 21, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, village police said. He also had a bench warrant.

He was arraigned in Village Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $1,500 bail or $3,000 bond.

Potsdam man sent to jail

on endangerment charge

POTSDAM — A 24-year-old man is accused of getting into fight with a woman Thursday morning while she slept in bed with her 4-year-old son.

Brenton J. Decker, Potsdam, was charged Thursday with child endangerment, village police said. The unidentified woman wasn't injured.

He was arraigned in Village Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $1,000 bail.

LaFargeville man facing

disorderly conduct charge

A LaFargeville man tried picking fights with people early Thursday morning in a parking lot in the 500 block of Coffeen Street, and was arrested on three charges, according to Watertown police.

Shane R. Cole, 22, of 24165 Stafford Drive, is charged with disorderly conduct, unlawful possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. Police said he twice tried pulling away from an officer who was attempting to take him into custody.

LeRay man is accused

of harassment in attack

A man is summoned to town of LeRay Court to face accusations that he choked and shoved a woman who was living with him, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

Randall A. Day, 32, of 22454 Colonial Manor, Apt. B-3, is charged with harassment on a complaint lodged by Courtney M. Lancaster in an incident alleged to have occurred the night of Oct. 11.

with exposing himself

Jalentai L. Anderson, 19, of 204 S. Pleasant St., is due to appear in City Court on answer to a charge of public lewdness.

Watertown police allege that he exposed himself to a woman shortly before 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Eastern Boulevard.

Canton man is accused

of violating court order

CANTON — Patrick F. Whitehill, 20, of 1004 Irish Settlement Road, was charged Tuesday with second-degree criminal contempt for reportedly violating a protection order by threatening his estranged wife over the phone, village police said.

He was arraigned in Village Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail on $250 bail or $500 bond.

A man was charged Monday afternoon by city police with second-degree criminal contempt, and is summoned to appear in City Court. Michel G. Demay, 50, is accused of violating a City Court order of protection by returning to his home, 621 N. Hycliff Drive, according to police.

The protection order is held by Younghee Demay, who lives there, police said.

Watertown man accused

of taking $130 cell phone

Bradley J. Horeth II, 29, of 717 State St., Apt. 2, was charged by city police early Thursday morning with petit larceny, and is due to appear in City Court.

He is accused of stealing a $130 cell phone belonging to Kristen A. West, 1207 State St., from her purse Thursday morning in the Pewter Mug tavern, 1313 State St., police said.

City police say woman

let teenage girl get drunk

City police allege that a woman allowed a 16-year-old girl to become intoxicated in her apartment early Wednesday morning during an underage-drinking party.

Tiffany R. Girard, 20, of 224 Palmer St., Apt. 101-A, was charged at 3:30 a.m. with criminal nuisance and endangering the welfare of a child, and is ordered to appear in City Court.

Winthrop man facing

criminal mischief charge

NORTH LAWRENCE — Shaun M. Sochia, 30, Winthrop, was charged Sunday with fourth-degree criminal mischief when he reportedly damaged the front bumper of a car owned by Michelle Greene, state police said.

He was issued an appearance ticket for Lawrence Town Court.

Pamelia woman charged

with shoplifting at Sears

Jackie L. Cole, 21, Sawdy Road, town of Pamelia, was charged Sunday afternoon by state police with petit larceny, and is summoned to town of Watertown Court.

She is accused of shoplifting items priced at a total of about $50 at Sears, Salmon Run Mall, police said.

Alleged shoplifter accused

of trying to sneak away

A man tried leaving Price Chopper, 1283 Arsenal St., by a rear door early Wednesday morning to avoid detection as a shoplifter, Watertown police allege.

Andrew W. Ball, 19, of 643 Mundy St., is charged with petit larceny in the alleged shoplifting of beer priced at $71.96, according to police. He is due to appear in City Court.

Dexter woman charged

with shoplifting at P&C

A Dexter woman was accused of shoplifting groceries priced at nearly $129 Monday evening at P&C Foods, Seaway Plaza, according to state police.

Sonya A. Sparacino, 36, is summoned to appear in town of Pamelia Court to answer to a charge of petit larceny.
