ADAMS — Mr. and Mrs. David C. Riordan, Route 11, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Oct. 10 with a surprise party, given by their family, at their home.
Mr. Riordan, son of the late Robert and Elizabeth Riordan, married Karen A. Tousley, daughter of the late Jack and Ethel Tousley, Oct. 11, 1969, at the Philadelphia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ralph Hutchinson officiating. Honor attendants were the late Vicki Tousley, sister of the bride, Deborah Monroe, and the late Roger Taylor, brother-in-law of the groom.
Mr. Riordan is a 1963 graduate of General Brown Central School, Dexter, and a 1967 graduate of Cornell University, Ithaca, where he received a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics. He was an agricultural loan officer at Marine Midland Bank before retiring in July 2004 after 37 years of service.
Mrs. Riordan is a 1968 graduate of Indian River Central School, Philadelphia. She was employed by Marine Midland Bank, South Jefferson Central School and New York Casualty Insurance Company, Watertown. She also baby-sits for her grandchildren. Mrs. Riordan is a member of the Adams United Methodist Church.
The Riordans enjoy camping, traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.
They have three sons and three daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Dawn Riordan, Hamburg, Daniel and Rachael Riordan, Adams Center, and Paul and Marisa Riordan, Belleville. They have six grandchildren.
