A Syracuse man pleaded guilty Monday in Jefferson County Court to two drug charges as a result of separate incidents.
Takeem J. Prince,36, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Sentencing was set for Jan. 26.
He was indicted by a grand jury Nov. 3 for possessing more than half an ounce of cocaine in May in Watertown. He was accused of having the drug after the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force raided a Franklin Street apartment.
At the time of his arrest on the drug possession charge, he also was arrested on a sealed warrant that charged him with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for having sold cocaine in April in Watertown.
In other court activity Monday:
Larry S. Langley,23, Olathe, Kan., formerly of Fort Drum, pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted burglary. Sentencing was set for Jan. 29. He was accused of entering a residence on Route 232 in the town of Watertown with another man Feb. 19 and threatening a resident there with a baseball bat.
Jason R. Steele,31, an inmate at Mid-State Correctional Facility, Marcy, formerly of the Syracuse area, offered a plea of guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny. Sentencing was set for Jan. 7.
He reportedly issued two checks, one for $10,000 and a second for $8,000, on Dec. 7 to F.X. Caprara Car Co., Watertown, as payment for a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. He was accused of stealing the vehicle because he knew he did not have enough money in his checking account to cover either amount.
In court Tuesday,Robert S.L. Brown,34, of 172 Academy St., pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Sentencing was set for Jan. 29. He was accused of selling cocaine in Watertown in early February.
Willie Scott Jr.,57, Watertown, was arraigned on charges of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. The charges were contained in a grand jury indictment unsealed in court.
It is alleged he had and sold cocaine in Watertown in early October. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was ordered sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $25,000 bail.
