ADAMS — The village offices will close Thursday morning at 10:15 a.m. to allow employees to attend former Mayor Dugal C. Peck's funeral, the Board of Trustees decided Monday night.

The board also scheduled a special meeting for 7 p.m. Dec. 22 to help get board members up-to-date on projects during a period of transition after Mr. Peck's death last week. Newly appointed Mayor Patricia C. Sweetland appointed a new trustee, Keith S. Perry, to the board to fill her vacant seat.

The board also decided to change mileage reimbursement for village employees from a set amount of 50.5 cents per mile to the prevailing rate determined by the Internal Revenue Service as the standard tax-deductible cost of driving for qualifying purposes. The current IRS rate is 58.5 cents per mile.
