Teen, mother charged

in theft of computer

POTSDAM — Village police charged a Potsdam man with fourth-degree grand larceny Friday after he allegedly stole a computer worth $1,400 from another resident.

William R. Facteau, 18, and his mother, Cynthia A. Facteau, 49, both were charged with tampering with physical evidence and third-degree criminal mischief for reportedly taking the computer apart and dumping pieces of it into the Grasse River after they found out an investigation was under way.

Man faces two charges

after domestic incident

WADDINGTON — State police charged John E. Carlin III, 19, of 268 Hunter Road, with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment after a domestic incident at his house on Friday.

Lowville woman facing

drug, driving charges

LOWVILLE — State police here have charged Nicole L. Hutchins, 23, Lowville, with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop on Stowe Street.

She also was charged with inadequate signal and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police did not say when the traffic stop was made or what substance was found. Assisting at the scene were Lowville village police, including the village police dog, Agar.

Louisville man charged

with trespassing, mischief

MASSENA — State police charged Douglas C. Kerr, 51, of 1068 County Route 36, Louisville, on Friday with second-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

He entered and refused to leave the home of Gordon Dane, 585 County Route 39, according to police. They say he also caused approximately $30 worth of damage to a door and two locks in the house.

Police say Croghan man

stole 25 feet of flex pipe

WATSON — Lewis County sheriff's deputies have charged Derek J. Farr, 31, of 9799 Route 812, Croghan, with petit larceny after he allegedly stole 25 feet of flex pipe Aug. 5 from Justin Hall, no age or address given.

Mr. Farr turned himself in to deputies Tuesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He is to answer the charge in Watson Town Court.
