LOWVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ward,Lowville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Glenfield Fire Hall.
Mr. Ward, son of the late Donald and Emma Ward, was married to Kay Watson, daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen Watson, on Dec. 20, 1958, at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Morley.
Honor attendants were Joanne Webster, Colton, and Frank Quinn, address unknown.
Mrs. Ward is a former beautician and postal worker. In 1989 she became postmaster at the Martinsburg Post Office, retiring in 1998.
Mr. Ward served two years in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway for two years, and after marrying the couple moved to Lowville, where he went to work for Payne-Jones, retiring from Rexam in 1998 after 38 total years of service.
The couple has three sons and three daughters-in-law, Michael and Darlene, town of Watson, Kirk and Patty, Seneca Falls, and Phillip and Cindy, Lowville; a daughter, Julie Wilkinson, Rochester, eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
