COPENHAGEN — Mr. and Mrs. Nelson W. Yancey, Copenhagen, will observe their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 26. They will celebrate with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at River of Life Church.

Mr. Yancey, son of the late Nelson and Greta Yancey, was married to Ruth E. Snyder, daughter of the late Carl and Mertie Snyder, on Sept. 26, 1948, at the Copenhagen Methodist Church with the Rev. N. James Polney officiating.

Mr. Yancey graduated from Wolcott High School and attended Rochester Institute of Technology. He was a machinist at Black Clawson Co., Watertown, for 20 years and retired in 1988 from Union Forging Co., Endicott.

Mrs. Yancey graduated from Copenhagen Central School and attended Potsdam State University College. She is a homemaker.

The couple has two sons, Michael, Park Falls, Wis., and Daniel, Copenhagen, and two daughters, Suzanne Hemmer, Apalachin, and Debra Der, Copenhagen. They also have seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
