DEXTER — Mr. and Mrs. William Boulio, Brown Street, celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary July 6 with a reception given by their children at the Dexter American Legion.
Mr. Boulio, son of the late Frank and Mary Smith Boulio, married Joan S. Preston, daughter of the late Sumner and Delilah Preston, on July 6, 1963, at the Church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Watertown, with the Rev. Joseph A. Francoeur officiating.
Honor attendants were the late Patricia E. Fulkerson, sister of the bride, and L. Paul Kehoe, Wolcott.
Mrs. Boulio graduated from Mannsville Central High School in 1959 and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Watertown, in 1962.
In 1990 she began as school nurse at Brownville-Glen Park Elementary School, Brownville. Previously, she was a registered nurse in the pediatric ward at the former Mercy Hospital, Watertown, leaving in 1972 to raise her family. During the 1980s, she was a registered nurse for the Watertown Ear, Nose and Throat Group.
Mr. Boulio graduated from Copenhagen Central School in 1953. He served for three years in the Air Force during the late 1950s. A graduate of the New York State Police Academy, he was a state trooper, stationed in Watertown, from June 1961 until his retirement Aug. 26, 1981.
He was also a custodian at Immaculate Heart Central High School, Watertown, for seven years, and was employed by the federal police at Fort Drum, retiring in 1991. He works in security at state Supreme Court in Watertown.
He is a member and master of Knights of Columbus General Brown Council 7598, a member of Fraternal Order of Police and the Association of Retired Members of New York State Troopers.
Mr. and Mrs. Boulio are communicants of St. Elizabeth Seton Roman Catholic Church, where Mrs. Boulio is a member of the Altar-Rosary Society and the Legion of Mary and is also a member of Liferight of Watertown.
They have a son and a daughter-in-law, Luke and Devika, New York City; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Lisa Boulio, Dexter, Laurie J. and Johnnie Kane, Brazoria, Texas, Leslie J. and James Gayne, Watertown, LuAnn J. and Alan Lucier, Savannah, Ga., and Lynda J. Boulio, Manhattan, and 10 grandchildren.
