EVANS MILLS — A funeral Mass for Robert J. Horton, 19, 28555 Rogers Road, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Arthur J. LaBaff officiating.

Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Horton died Tuesday at Millsite Lake, Redwood, from injuries resulting from a swimming accident. Calling hours will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home.

Mr. Horton was employed in the summers by Hicks Ice Plant, Theresa.

Born Oct. 4, 1988, in Syracuse, son of Donald and Janet Dickson Horton, he graduated in 2006 from Indian River High School, where he played varsity hockey and soccer, and attended three semesters at Jefferson Community College, Watertown.

Mr. Horton enjoyed soccer, golf, hockey and hanging out with his friends.

He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

Surviving besides his parents are a brother, Kyle, Evans Mills; his paternal grandfather, James Horton, Watertown; his maternal grandmother, Jeanette White, Antwerp; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

His paternal grandmother, Lillian Georgette Horton, and his maternal grandfather, Robert Dickson, both died in 2006.
