NORTH LAWRENCE — Stephen J. Donalis, 92, North Lawrence, died Wednesday morning at the home of his grandson and his wife, Shawn and Tricia Donalis, North Lawrence.
Mr. Donalis was employed for Aluminum Company of America prior to his service in World War II and returned to work in the foundry until retirement.
Born Dec. 26, 1915, in Massena, he was a son of Jonas and Elizabeth Nezezon Donalis.
He married June Hodgkins on Feb. 6, 1945, at St. Mary's Church, Massena, with the Rev. D. T. Lyddy officiating.
Mr. Donalis served in the Army during World War II and received his honorable discharge as Corporal and Tech 5 in 1945. Mr. Donalis was a member of American Legion Post 514, Winthrop, and Moose Lodge, Massena.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Carol Donalis, Winthrop; a sister, Elizabeth D'Arienzo, Massena; four grandchildren, a niece and great-grandchildren.
His wife, June, a son, Stephen N., two brothers, John and Alex, and two sisters, Emma and Helen Donalis, died before him.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hammill Funeral Home, Winthrop. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Dickinson. Calling hours will be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
