BLACK RIVER — There will be no funeral for Virginia Ann Inman, 77, of Kamargo Apartments, 224 LeRay St. The body will be cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery, Lemont, Ill.
Mrs. Inman died Monday in a fire at her apartment.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bruce Funeral Home.
She was a registered nurse at Little Company of Mary Hospital, Evergreen Park, Ill., until retiring in 1986.
Born Dec. 14, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of John and Mildred Otten Bailey, she graduated from St. Francis of Assisi High School, Joliet, Ill., and Little Company of Mary Hospital School of Nursing with a degree in nursing.
A marriage to James Inman ended in divorce.
Mrs. Inman moved to Black River in February 1997 and resided at Kamargo Apartments. She enjoyed reading and sewing.
Surviving are four daughters and three sons-in-law, JoAnn and John Weller, Dow, Ill., Linda J. and Peter M. Queior, Black River, Nancy A. and Detlef Kramer, Lompoc, Calif., and Janet M. Schaefer, Oberlin Park, Kan.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas W., Clinton, Ill., Paul A. and Mary, Winchester, Calif., and Laurence A. and Audrey, Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Two sons, James Eric in 1956 and Matthew John in 1991, and two brothers, Robert and John Bailey, died before her.
