MASSENA — Lloyd F. Houle, 75, formerly of 3 Hometown Lane, died Sunday at St. Regis Nursing Home, where he had been a resident since 2005.
He was a cook for 26 years at Carriage House Restaurant, Watertown, until becoming disabled because of a car accident. He also was employed in the potrooms at Aluminum Company of America and the Louisville Highway Department.
Born March 27, 1933, in Louisville, son of Alexander and Gladys Miller Houle, he attended schools in Louisville. He married Florence M. Morehouse on Oct. 31, 1958, in Louisville. She died Aug. 23, 1993.
He served in the Army.
Mr. Houle was a member of Harold W. Townsend American Legion Post 1757, Sackets Harbor, and enjoyed cooking and being outdoors.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert F. and Pamela, and Ricky J., all of Massena; a daughter and her husband, Deborah and Richard Baker, Sackets Harbor; a sister, Phyllis Shoen, Florida; 11 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
A son, Lloyd M., died April 8, 2004. A brother, Robert, and a sister, Margaret Martin, also died before him.
A graveside service with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Louisville Community Cemetery with the Rev. Judy VanKennan officiating.
