PARISHVILLE — A Masonic memorial service for Frank Carlton Simpson, 98, Parishville, will be held at 7:30 p.m. July 24 at Amber Lodge 395 in Parishville. The body was donated to medical science at the University of Rochester Medical School.

Mr. Simpson died June 21 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam.

Mr. Simpson was a civil engineer professional in New York and Virginia.

He was a member of Towpath Masonic Lodge 163 in Rochester and a 50-year member of Amber Masonic Lodge 395 in Parishville. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Ohio, and was grand steward from 1996 through 1998 for the Second St. Lawrence District. He also was a member of Parishville United Methodist Church.

Born March 13, 1910, in Fort Jackson, son of George W. and Elizabeth Sabra Simpson, he was a graduate of Parishville High School and graduated from Clarkson College of Technology, Potsdam, as a civil engineer in 1931.

He married Ethel Mary Bettridge on Nov. 9, 1935, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Utica. She died Jan. 18, 1986, in Rochester.

Surviving are a brother, George R., a resident of United Helpers Canton Nursing Home, formerly of Kirkville, and many nieces and nephews, including his caregiver for many years, James Young, Parishville.

Four sisters, Gladys Pedler, Gertrude Simpson, Vivian MacMullen and Mary Young, and two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Simpson, died before him.
