HERMON — Beulah I. Law, 86, Hermon, died Thursday at E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur.

Mrs. Law was a cook at Gillette's Nursing Home, DeKalb; was a cashier at Hermon IGA, and retired from First National Bank of Hermon in 1984 because of ill health.

Born May 13, 1922, in Pierrepont, daughter of Charles and Ruth Sullivan Colton, she attended Degrasse rural school and Knox Memorial School, Russell.

She married Richard A. Law on March 16, 1942, at Crary Mills with the Rev. Charles H. McVey officiating.

Mrs. Law enjoyed playing bingo, bowling in a league and playing Pedro at Hermon Fire Hall.

Surviving besides her husband are six sons and three daughters-in-law, Richard and Diane, Manlius, Robert and Wanda, DeKalb Junction, Gene and Rayma, Jacksonville, Fla., Roger, Canton, Stuart, and his companion, Bonnie Chase, Hermon, and Randy, and his companion, Sherry Bush, Richville; three daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Tynon, Bainbridge, Ga., Connie Lawson, DeKalb Junction, and Brenda and James Jacobs, Clayton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Myron Colton and Byron and Gloria Colton, all of Florida; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

An infant son, Charles, a sister, Hazel Bernier, and a half brother, Worth Colton, died before her.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at French Funeral Home, Edwards, with lay ministers William Strate and Marilyn Constantine officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Clare. A 3:30 p.m. luncheon is set at Russell United Methodist Church.

Calling hours will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
