FORT COVINGTON — Lena Margaret Morris MacDonald, 87, of 766 Salmon St., died Wednesday afternoon at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, where she had been a patient since Tuesday.

Mrs. MacDonald was a bus driver for Salmon River Central School for more than 20 years, retiring in 1983.

Born March 3, 1921, in Dundee, Quebec, she was a daughter of Allen and Florence Collette Morris.

She married Alexander Joseph Moran MacDonald on Dec. 20, 1941. He died Jan. 27, 1980.

Mrs. MacDonald was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society and enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Surviving are a son and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Denise, Fort Covington, and Bobbie MacDonald, Clayton; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Bonnie L. Boak, St. Clair, Mich., and Laurie and Robert Kitts, Debbie and Leo Cartier Jr. and Donna MacDonald, all of Fort Covington, 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

A son, Bruce M. MacDonald, died May 27, 1996. A sister, Gladys C. Vincellette, died March 15.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Cappiello-McKenzie & Cosgrove Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to Fort Covington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
