NORWOOD — The funeral for Margaret M. Oakes, 86, of 6 Pine St., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Philip's Episcopal Church with Deacon Margaret Theodore officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Oakes died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter Hattie LaBaff, Norfolk.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Buck Funeral Home, Norwood.

Mrs. Oakes was a homemaker.

Born June 23, 1922, in Yaleville, she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Connelly Forrest.

She married Clifford A. Oakes on July 4, 1942.

He retired from the Aluminum Company of America, Massena, in 1974. He died July 24, 1991.

Surviving besides her daughter are another daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Betty) LaPage,Norfolk; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
