MADRID — Gloria J. Jones, 65, of 871 Brady Road, died Tuesday at her home.

Mrs. Jones was a clerk for Jacobs Manufacturing Co. and the American School for the Deaf, both in West Hartford, Conn., where she resided for 29 years.

Born May 8, 1943, in Ogdensburg, she was a daughter of Leonard and Josephine Yerdon LaFlair.

She married Jerry L. Jones on Nov. 25, 1963. He died April 17, 2005.

Mrs. Jones enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos and doing crafts and especially enjoyed meditating on the banks of the St. Lawrence River.

Surviving are two sisters and their husbands, Linda and Ray Lawrence, Madrid, and Sally and Terry Collins, Massena; a brother and his wife, Douglas and Debra LaFlair, Mascoutah, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Memorial Home, Waddington, with the Rev. Thomas H. Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Waddington.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
