BRUSHTON — Thomas E. Malette, 61, Parish, formerly of the Brushton-Moira area, died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, where he had been a patient since June 13.

Mr. Malette was employed by Diamond Roofing, Syracuse, with Roofers Local 195, also in Syracuse, retiring in 1994 because of ill health.

Born Oct. 22, 1946, in Malone, son of Eugene and Bernadetta Taylor Malette, he graduated from Brushton-Moira Central School.

He married Cindy Sancomb on Nov. 10, 1984, in Cleveland.

He previously had been married to Sandra A. Bashaw.

Mr. Malette was a member of Sons of the American Legion Post 601, Parish.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters and their husbands, Tamara and Kevin Crinklaw, Brushton, and Tonia and Jack Garland, North Bangor; two stepsons and their wives, Warren and Susan Hadlock, Parish, and Richard and Alicia Hadlock, Pennelville; a stepdaughter, Bernadette Hadlock, Parish; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Eugene Jr. and Theresa, North Bangor, Roger, Moira, and Michael and Lori, Brushton; three sisters and their husbands, Leona and Andrew DeBeer, Dickinson Center, Carol and Gary Parnapy, North Bangor, and Patricia and Leslie Brannan, Brushton; an aunt, grandchildren and stepgrandchildren.

A brother, Richard, a son-in-law, Thomas Ghostlaw, and a stepgrandson died before him.

A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Joseph P. Wheelock officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Flint Funeral Home, Moira.
