Paul and Sharlene Thompson, Waddington, announce the engagement of their son, Ryan Henry Thompson, Washington, D.C., to Anne Elizabeth Langdon, also of Washington.

Miss Langdon, daughter of David and Peggy Langdon, Fredericksburg, Va., graduated in 2002 from James Monroe High School, Fredericksburg, and in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy and international studies from Elon University, Burlington, N.C. She is a regional logistics manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Rockville, Md.

Mr. Thompson graduated in 2001 from Waddington Central School and in 2005 from St. Lawrence University, Canton, with a bachelor's degree in history. He is an assistant branch manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Washington, D.C.

An Oct. 11 wedding is planned in Fredericksburg.
