JCC honors staff members at annual recognition dinner
SATURDAY, MAY 17, 2008

Jefferson Community College recently recognized its newly appointed emeriti, honored those for years of service to the college and observed the retirement of nine faculty-staff members during JCC's annual recognition celebration May 2.

Combined, years of service to the college exceed 450.

Retirees and their years of service include:

Holly W. Armstrong,who began in 1996 as an adjunct instructor and is retiring as assistant professor of human services; 12 years.

Sharon R. Blankman,who began in 1986 as a senior account clerk and is retiring as college bursar; 22 years.

Inger M. Curth,who began in 1997 as an assistant librarian and is retiring as library director; 11 years.

Julie M. Dziewisz,who began in 2002 as a reading instructor and retired as assistant professor; five years.

Katherine F. Fenlon,who joined the English faculty in 1978 and is retiring as vice president for academic affairs; 33 years.

Barbara E. Harter,who since 1993 has been a typist responsible for student transcripts; 15 years.

Thomas W. Myers,who began in 1968 as the first full-time manager of the college bookstore and retired from that position; 37 years.

Ingrid M. Overacker,who began her tenure in 1996 as a history instructor and will retire from the position of associate professor of history; 12 years.

Gary L. Sproul,who began in 1993 as assistant dean of administration and has retired as vice president of technology and institutional research; 15 years.

JCC also conferred emeriti status on the following retirees:

Robert J. Bookser,Carthage, director of financial operations emeritus, who retired as director of financial operations in 2007, after 38 years' service.

Albert H. Brown,Belleville, trustee emeritus, who retired from the JCC Board of Trustees in 2006, after serving three consecutive nine-year terms.

Roberta L. Lockwood,Watertown, counselor emerita, who retired in 2007, after 33 years as a counselor.

Current employees also were recognized for the following years of service:

Five: Thomas Baker, Teresa Boulton, Yvonne Brown, Shayne Chatterton, Patricia Crowder, Jolynn Fiorentino, Stephanie Gillette, Heather Hamilton, Patricia Jaacks, April Marvin, Richard Merryman, Helena Morin, Roxanna Silsby and Thomas Vincent.

Ten: Charlotte Lashomb, Judy LeFrancois, Genny Pond.

Fifteen: Venkat Chebolu, Rosemary Deusser-Jensen, Debra Felice, Barbara Harter, Lorraine Irwin, Sharon Lasker, Bonnie Moore, Gail Patrick, Rosalind Shorter and Gary Sproul.

Twenty: Courtney Bauer and Kimberly Stearns.

Twenty-five: Tina Berkey, Kevin Clark, Thaddeus Jones, Mary Kinne, Edwin Thompson and Michael White.

Thirty: Katherine Fenlon.
