The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded Massena International and Malone-Dufort airports grants totaling $316,070, Rep. John M. McHugh's office announced Friday
The Massena airport received a $150,000 grant to perform an environmental assessment for the short term master plan at the airport. The project will identity and evaluate the potential impacts associated with the first five years of projects cited in the master plan.
The Malone airport received a $166,070 grant for design work of a parallel taxiway to eliminate back-taxiing on the runway. The project will improve safety at the airport and efficiency of airport operations.
